Beginning Classical Drawing

This 6-week drawing class is geared toward beginning drawers. In 3-hour sessions, and with charcoal and newsprint as the medium, students learn the principles of value, composition, the shadow edge, proportion, texture, contour drawing and basic perspective.

Expressive Painting Class

This 4-week painting class is taught with acrylics / canvas as the medium. Students learn to pull from alternative senses (shearing, touch, smell, taste) and translate the information toa visual painted image.

The class includes an "idea development" exercise to help artists prospect for, and develop, concepts for their paintings. It also includes an introduction to color theory, and color psychology as components of painting, and how they can strengthen the impact of a piece of artwork. ed toward beginning drawers. Art For the Creative Child

This 6-week class is geared especially toward children. In 1 1/2-hour sessions, the kids are introduced to basic design and drawing principles - by way of fun exercises taught at a child's learning level.   The class I am offering is posted for ages 7 to 10 but if you have a younger student, just drop me an email and we'll chat!

Fun With Metal Leafing Workshop

 
To Be Scheduled Soon....
This 3 hour workshop is designed to teach existing and aspiring artists how to gold leafing in their work. In a 3-hour period, students receive a lecture on the process of goldleafing, get to see samples of master works of art that gold leafing is used in. They get to gold leaf their choice of a canvas, frame or gourd, and paint it afterwards.

Cafe Sketching

This 5-week drawing class isa fun opportunityfor artists desiring to improve upon their figure drawing, and gesture drawing skills. For 5 weeks, we meet at a different designated place where people gather, and practice the art of gesture drawing. Students build on their skills of proportion, capturing line of action, movement, establishing masses, line quality, and more.

Intermediate Classical Drawing

This 6-week drawing class is geared toward artists with some drawing experience, who would like to expand on their skills.

In 3-hour sessions, and with charcoal and newsprint as the medium, students expand on drawing basics, and have focused lessons on drawing hands, feet, types of perspective, faces, and an introduction to color theory. The final lesson is reserved for an introduction to gesture drawing, and students have the opportunity to work from a live model.
