About the Painting:

I painted this in 1998.  I had been reading about the RFID chip as my topic for an editorial illustration school assignment

I have followed the progress of the Bio Chip over the past eleven years.  Interestingly, everything I read about it in 1998 has come true, and the Bio Chip is in widespread use today. It exists in so many forms: chipping to locate lost pets, smart chips in credit cards, hand scans allowing one access to get into Sea World, implants injected into your arm by your favorite night club. The implementations of the RFID chip continues to grow with great speed, providing us with ever faster, time saving conveniences.

All good things have an equal and opposite possible use.  So what’s the flip side?

This painting is packed with symbols. The fortune teller is revealing the future. She bears the chip implant in her forehead. The pyramid with the all-seeing-eye represents the New World Order /one world government to come.  In the shadows are a syringe (for chip injection),  handcuffs, representing the potential of population enslavement via this tracking device, and a Bible ( there are some who believe the RFID chip is the talked about “Mark of the Beast.”)
