About the Painting:

They say painters are superstitious. Most painters
have an article of clothing that they feel brings them
good luck, or that they do their best work in.

My security blanket is my infamous painting britches; which I wear more often than normal clothing. I have pants that sparkle, pants that are covered in primer and caulking, pants that are so covered in paint they can stand up by themselves (ooohh!) and pants that are so well worn they are virtually see-thru! Yikes!

I have been stopped on the street for years by men and women alike that really dig the painting britches. But in the last 4-5 months, I have been showered with request for the painting britches...both on canvas and off. So totally funny!

Given the recent heightened interest in my britches (that sounds so funny), and inspired by this one-liners submission, I decided to mount one of my many not-so-blue painting jeans to canvas, and display them as the fine art that people often tell me they are. Process, baby!

These pants were slated to be displayed in the 2008 parade of homes, but they sold at the One-Liners Show on opening night. The gallery called and asked if I could possibly "soil" another pair of britches and mount them to hang in the Parade of Homes. I looked down at the pant smothered britches I was wearing at that moment, laughed, and said "I think I can work that out!"

Look for "painting britches" #2, always one-of-a-kind by functional default, to be displayed in the St. George February 2008 parade of homes. Gee....which pair of britches should I use????
