About the Painting:
I like to sketch at events where there is live dancing and
music.
I had my sketchbook at one of the "Saturday Night
Alright" events at Kayenta, Utah last spring (2006) where they have a live band, and sometimes dancing. I happened
to catch this quick gesture sketch of a very dynamic lady (who?) dancing away with her "own self" to the live band.
I loved the charcoal sketch and knew I would eventually paint it. The song "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" came
on, and I knew it was the perfect match for this fun, motion-filled, shakin' sketch.
To the model: whoever you are, thanks for the great sketch, and great job "shakin' it!"
