About the Painting:
I am attracted to topics that have a humorous spin to them. This song just begged to be made into a fun painting.
I did a few sketches before I hit the one I wanted: a somewhat twisted pose of a diva-glam girl, sporting long silky
gloves, and - of course - real diamonds. It was important to me to use real diamonds, as no other faux material could effectively
drive the concept home. I
bought a diamond tennis bracelet, and cut it apart with my pliers. Scary!
I chose the big chunky ornate gold frame especially for
this painting, to accentuate the glitzy-glam look of the piece.
