About the Painting:

When I first got the idea for this show, I could think of a lot of “dark” topics which I wanted to paint about. I knew I would need to offset that with an opposing force of goodness, light-heartedness, and joy.  The first thing that came to mind was the feeling of peace.

The painting britches have been my work attire for 32 years. They have evolved (not by my own  doing) into their own form of art, now including painted britches on canvas.  So, I thought this would make a fun “peace” of art for the show.  It includes some of my own favorite quotes, as well as happy, playful colors that made me feel happy when I was working on pieces that were darker and more serious.

The Peace Pants idea surprisingly evolved into four Peace Pants workshops, which all sold out. I am grateful to all those who jumped on board, painted some fantastic Peace britches, and supported this idea.  I hope you had as much fun as I did!
