About the Painting:
This painting is my attempt at an unsolvable, artistic social study. It is a visual representation of both the joys, and
pains, of being alone.
I think most true artists can relate to this: an inherent need built into us - a requirement for solitude. We must have
it to survive. We must be alone with our own head to process, imagine, devise, create. Personally, I treasure these windows
of alone-time immeasureably. I love to hunker down in my private studio, and not come up for air for weeks - or until I have
run out of groceries, toilet paper, or dog food.
On the flip side, there is a deep sadness/ emptiness which resonates within me from time to time, It is a feeling of being
entirely alone in a complex head, and creative world, that only I understand. It is an enigma to me. My current life is anything
but alone. It is packed people - close friends, business associates, clients, acquaintances, who are dear to me, including
the fantastic man I love.
It is an emotional phenomenon that continues to elude me.
