Think "Pink!"
In November, 2005, artist Gina Jrel teamed up with Dixie Regional Medical Center to present "Vanity for Humanity:"
an art exhibit meant to call awareness to, and raise funds for, breast cancer.
The exhibit was unveiled in St. George, Utah in conjunction with the grand re-opening of Dixie Regional Medical Center's
400 East Campus / Huntsman-IHC Cancer Center's rededication.
In this special collection of pink paintings, Jrel strived to present a visual combination of the strength of the human
spirit, and the element of humor that sees us all through times of crisis. This mixture of the fun and formal features several
humorous and silly depictions of things women spend their money on rather than health care.
On a more formal note, and as a tribute to their courage, hope, and strong personal character, Jrel featured three portraits
of local breast cancer survivors, portrayed in her unique, whimsical painting style.
The show theme, "Vanity For Humanity," was the creative effort of breast cancer survivor and Breast Cancer Awareness
Committee Member, Dr. Robin Berger. Dr. Berger is one of the three amazing women Jrel created a portrait of.
Jrel's original paintings were available for purchase.
100% of the proceeds from sales went to the Foundation of Dixie Regional Medical Center to support breast cancer patients
in Southern Utah.
